Born to Lehman Leon Woods and Berta Mae Woods, she lived most of her life in Big Spring, TX where she graduated high school. Later in life, she spent 16 years in Atlanta, GA. She returned to Big Spring in 2003. She received her associate's degree from Mountain View College in Dallas. She received her bachelor's degree from Spelman College in Atlanta. She was a social worker, assisting in the needs of the elderly, homeless, and less fortunate. She was later a teacher for Big Spring Independent School District. She lived as a community organizer, researcher and artist. Her faith was important to her. While in Atlanta, she was a very active member of the Simpson Street Church of Christ, serving with Minister Andrew Hairston. She was the director of the Children's Ministry. In Big Spring she was a member of the West Hwy Church of Christ. I Am Creative Justice honors her life's and archives her tragic passing.
